A couple of years ago I purchased a Roku 2HD unit and a whole new world of video opened up to me. Streaming video content is something a lot of providers do but Roku offers over 1000 channels (!) and it is amazing to see what your TV can do.
I bring all this up because Roku has just updated their lineup of little boxes and you can read about them in this article.
Because of Roku, I am able to watch every major league baseball and every National Hockey League game in high definition with no degradation of picture quality. This I was not able to do through Cablevision, my local cable TV provider.
You want to have choices to watch movies for free? Come and see what is available through Roku. You will be amazed.
I have never attempted to sort through all the channel possibilities available through Roku but of the 16 or so I have chosen, I am able to watch the news, movies, sports, television shows I can handle. I could, if I would take the time, be able to replace all the programming I watch on cable without having to subscribe to cable–and for a whole lot less money. But I just haven’t spent the time necessary to set this up–yet.
If you want to give yourself the gift of streaming video through the internet, Roku is the perfect place to start. All you need with it is a broadband connection to the internet and lots of time to watch what’s available. It’s one of the best investments of $100 I’ve ever made.

I also have a Roku box though not one of the top-of-the-line models. My only complaint is that the availability of news is rather limited but we tend to use the box for the movies more than anything else. I would concur that the investment is well worth it.
