Mid-Week Stewardship Thought

Getting Your House in Order

God gave Solomon great wisdom. Solomon is the author of the book of Proverbs. In Proverbs 27:23, we read, “Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds.” The people are told, as we are, to take good care of our own property. God, by His choosing, has blessed each of us resources to provide for our needs and to carry out His work in our homes, in our community, and in our church. Most of our may not be farmers who “give attention to [our] herds,” but we need to keep our house in order. We are best served to keep our house in order by having a household budget, an emergency fund of money set aside, a savings plan, a giving plan, a retirement plan, and an estate plan. If financial counsel is needed, we should seek a Christian financial advisor. With God’s wisdom and guidance, we can give proper attention to the blessings God has entrusted to us.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your generosity to me. Help me always to acknowledge that You are the creator and owner of all good things. Grant me wisdom so I can be a faithful and responsible steward with the blessings You entrust to me. Amen.

Blessings on your journey as a steward!
