LED Street Lights Will Change Our View

I came across this article on Gizmodo’s site about the massive changeover of sodium lights to LED lights on the streets of Los Angeles.

This is fascinating to consider because of the considerable difference in color hue between the two lights. A couple of years ago, spotlights in our church sanctuary were replaced with LED bulbs and the white-blue tone of light is strikingly noticeable.

Of course, in Ringwood (where I live) any street lights would be all right with me–even old time gas lights. We have no streets at all and the darkness can be overwhelming. Also, many motorists drive with their fog lights on and this creates a blinding situation for oncoming traffic.

Maybe since we got our first traffic signal last year there may be hope for lights upon our streets sometime down the road. One can always pray for such things, can’t they?
