I Am Thankful For …

The following comes from the newsletter of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Rogers AR (author unknown):

I am thankful for …

  • The partner who hogs the covers every night, because he/she is not out with someone else
  • The teenager who is not doing dishes but watching TV, because that means he/she is at home and not on the streets
  • The taxes I pay, because it means that I am employed
  • The mess to clean up after a party, because it means that I have bee surrounded by friends
  • The clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat
  • The shadow that watches me at work, because it means I am in the sunshine
  • The lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home
  • The complaining I hear about the government, because it means that we have freedom of speech
  • The parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation
  • The huge heating bill, because it means that I am warm
  • The lady behind me in church who sings off key, because it means that I can hear
  • The pile of laundry and ironing, because it means I have clothes to wear
  • The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means that I am alive

What else are you thankful for? During this Thanksgiving week, take time to thank God for all His gracious gifts to you and those you love. You might be overwhelmed with all His goodness!
