That was the price I paid for gas yesterday. The price has steadily been decreasing in the past weeks and I thank God for such a blessing. At the current rate, gas prices in Northwest Arkansas should be below $2.00 a gallon by Christmas.
It has been quite a while since we’ve seen prices at the pumps this low–5 or 6 years at least. Not too long ago we had resigned ourselves to paying more than $3.50 a gallon for the rest of our lives.
But circumstances change and as they have changed in recent weeks, so they can change once again with higher prices by things happening beyond our control. In the meantime, I’m just going to enjoy the respite from higher gas prices.
Of course, gas prices won’t really seem low until they reach the levels I saw as a young person: 19 cents a gallon. Now that would be a miracle!
