Mid-Week Stewardship Thought

Outrageous Giving

Imagine giving so generously of your wealth, time, and talents that the Lord had to beg you to stop serving and giving (Exodus 36:4-7). Out of love, devotion, and trust in the Lord, the Israelite people gave generously. Filled with the love of God, the people kept giving so much that Moses was forced to announce it was necessary to stop giving. Such outrageous giving is possible out of love but impossible out of some legal mandate. God commanded the giving of the tithe, but, in the case of the building of the tabernacle, God simply told Moses to ask the people to give as their hearts prompted them. Love was the motivator, and they gave outrageously.

Prayer: Lord, grant me a loving and generous heart. Help me to see the money that You have entrusted to me as a tool to help others and to extend your kingdom. Amen.

Blessings on your journey as a steward!
