Mid-Week Stewardship Thought

Grow in the Grace of Giving

As God renews our minds, we become more Christ-like; His thoughts become our thoughts and His ways become our ways.  When we begin to think as God would have us think, we will do as God wills us to do.  Through the reading and studying of His Word, we discover His giving principles of firstfruits, regular, and proportionate giving and, through faith, are enabled to apply them to our lives.

As stewards of God’s gifts, we have a great responsibility.  We are God’s instruments through which He supports the needy and extends His Church.  If we would choose to stop our giving, we cease to be effective stewards through whom God can accomplish His work.  If we understand and apply God’s giving principles, He can bless many people through us and, in return, He will bless us even more than we already are.  As Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

Prayer: Dear Lord, You entrust me with financial treasures so I can use them not only to provide for my needs but to use them to serve those who are in need.  Empower me to be a generous person. In Your precious name I pray.  Amen.

Blessings on your journey as a steward!
