Being a Faithful Steward
God has a claim on our lives for two reasons. First of all, God has given us life. He is our maker and the source of all good things. The second reason is the redemption that we have received through Calvary’s cross. Our salvation is completely accomplished by God through His Son’s sacrificial suffering and death and resurrection. As God’s created and redeemed children, we are free to serve Him as His stewards. We are to be seen as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of us as stewards that we are to be trustworthy (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). As servants of Christ, we are given this privileged state by God’s grace. God in Christ has reconciled us to Himself. “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9). May we be found faithful to God’s call to be His stewards.
Prayer: Dear good and gracious Heavenly Father, I thank You for my physical and spiritual blessings. Guide me to use my gifts in ways that give You honor and glory. Amen.
Blessings on your stewardship journey!
