Mid-Week Stewardship Thought

The Joy of Worship

God has created and adopted us as His children for which we should be forever thankful, causing us to give Him honor and praise. Thanking and worshiping Him is a wonderful privilege. In contrast to other activities, which are often means to an end, our worship is an end in itself. Through our worship, we show how important God is to us. Our worship brings God glory and gives us joy.

St. Augustine wrote, “Thou, O Lord, hast made us for Thyself, and we shall not find rest until we find it in Thee.” We can find our completeness only in God. Without God there is a void that cannot be filled. Worship gives fulfillment to life. When we try to fill the center of our lives with worldly things, we will experience meaningless, futility, emptiness, and loss of direction. Joy enters our lives when God, instead of things of this world, is the object of our love and worship.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, help me to worship You through my thoughts, words, and deeds. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Blessings on your journey as a steward!
